PAN 9 FIRE UPDATE:
(updated February 7)

On the morning of December 29, 2006, an electrical fire destroyed part of the Pan 9 art collective's space, and water damage destroyed property in the Fluttr Effect Apartment and other units in the building. Thom sustained burns on his one hand and foot, but is recovering well, and George was treated for smoke inhalation. Fortunately, there were no other injuries. Many of the residents' possessions including clothing, instruments & musical equipment, artwork, computers, bedding and furniture were destroyed. For the first hand report, click here.

Friends of Pan 9 have conspired to put this donation site together to help the residents out. The response and generosity has been overwhelming!

IMMEDIATE NEEDS:

• permanent space.
• support!
• help moving, restoring, cleaning, etc.
• as more information comes in, we'll post more here & at the Pan 9 page

EVENTS:

• Want to help fundraise? Organize? Heather's got a fundraising benefit in the works at the Regent Theater. Dates in March TBA.

• Got Art? Benefit Auction is in the works

THE FUTURE:

Things are still very much in limbo. It is looking more possible that residents will be able to move back into the building, however the Pan 9 space will be completely gutted, and it might not be able to accommodate the collective. Residents are moving into their temporary apartment this week (February 7). Insurance issues are still pending. It's going to be a long process, and it's great to see the huge outpouring of support.

If you'd like to help there will be much to do in the coming weeks and months!

Many many thanks for your support,

Kuma Lisa for the Friends of Pan 9
